Dispensing Help & Hope for the Uninsured
Where caring for others is not just our mission, it's our passion!
TLC Pharmacy – is a Non-profit pharmacy operated by a dedicated team of volunteers who are dispensing help & hope for low-income, uninsured Patients by providing access to medication and education.
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
TLC is a Community Pharmacy that is a ministry of local evangelical Christians acting as the hands and feet of Christ. This is a licensed pharmacy staffed by volunteer medical professionals and administrative help that provides access to medication and patient education for those with nowhere else to go. TLC has over 55 volunteers from several different segments of the community. The pharmacy is staffed with volunteer Pharmacists, pharmacy techs, and administrative volunteers.
Our Mission is to compassionately advance the health and well being of the low-income uninsured & underinsured population by operating a licensed pharmacy that provides lifesaving medications, healthcare advocacy and related educational and preventative health practices services regionally.
Our Vision is to compassionately improve access to health care for people in our community through education and life saving medications.
We help to prevent the hurting from having to make the following decision:
That is the stark choice that faces more and more members of our own community. As costs of prescription drugs continue to rise and the numbers of uninsured continue to rise, providing a source for life-saving prescription drugs becomes critical.
In Colorado's El Paso & Teller Counties, TLC serves as a Community Pharmacy dispensing free prescription medication to our neighbors who are uninsured. Residents of the county can qualify for our services if they are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
At our location in Colorado Springs, we do not have doctors on staff so you must have a prescription written by a doctor to apply. If you believe that you may be eligible for help with your prescription medication, please call us at 719-596-4449. We can screen you on the phone to let you know how we may be able to assist you.
Our Next Steps
We are striving to continue to increase our volunteer base opening one additional evening a week. We will remodel the Pharmacy to house Open Bible Medical Clinic, and using the new legislation to develop a community system of collecting unused medications. Our goal is also, to centralize and reduce duplication of pharmacy assistance within existing community organizations stretching their budget dollars and freeing up those agencies to focus on what they do best.
